Composer | Sound Designer

Ethan is a Composer/ Sound Designer with a drive to create music that captures the humanity within stories and invites people into immersive experiences. Ethan’s musical endeavours started at an early age when his parents foolishly gifted him a drum kit at the age of 3. From then the obsession with music grew and grew. Since then he has graduated from dBs Music in Bristol with First Class Honours after studying Music Composition for Film & TV.

Ethan’s music ranges from whimsical and storybook-esque piano pieces, to fantastical immersive music to transport you into mythical worlds, to ambient synth soundscapes. His most notable work is the multi-award winning short documentary Eden which won him a craft award for best score at the RTS West of England Student Awards 2022.

Ethan’s aim in his music is to capture something pure and authentic, reacting to the story set before him and sensitively supporting it to highlight humanity, the beauty of nature, and sometimes to immerse listeners into fantastical realms beyond your imaginations.

As well as creating music for a variety of films, Ethan has also worked on some sound design projects, most notably 2b13’s Bogs | The Magic Of Peat, where he created the subtle and alienlike sounds of the fascinating peatlands.

Outside of his work on filmmaking, Ethan loves to create stories within fantasy worlds, often through the medium of Tabletop Roleplaying games like D&D. To support this he has started a side project named Sigert’s Vault which aims to create music that captures stories of lost adventurers from faraway realms for use within these games.

Looking onward, Ethan aims to continue to hone his craft and work on more beautiful films, TV shows and Video Games.
